I am a creative, solutions-oriented, and mission-driven leader who thrives as thought partner, systems builder, and innovator. My diverse background and varied interests help me to connect dots in unexpected ways and enable me to think critically and creatively to generate innovative ideas and solve problems.

Throughout my career, I’ve leveraged curiosity, tenacity, and my innate drive and ability to solve problems to evolve into the operations leader I am today. I am passionate about personal finance and the impact education can have on enabling people to live choice-filled lives.

The combination of that passion for personal development and personal finance along with my business acumen and range of professional experiences propelled me to start helping small business owners build the systems necessary to scale beyond what their hustle could build and to offer my proprietary personal finance coaching curriculum to empower clients to thrive financially.

National charter management organization dedicated to preparing ALL students for college, leadership, and life serving 12,000+ students.

 

Director of Operations - Los Angeles Region

  • Grew the Home Office Operations team from three to six members, then clarified and codified each team members scope of work by leading the development of annual program plans including timing and instruction guides 

  • Led the administration of all School Operations programs by coaching and managing program staff to take ownership of program goals, invest in professional growth, and become effective managers in the areas of school nutrition, transportation, purchasing, student health initiatives, Covid-19 response, and student recruitment in support of 19 schools across the greater Los Angeles area

  • Initiated and led the development of a cross-functional student recruitment task force and implemented a multi-year strategic plan to achieve district-wide recruitment goals

  • Created and facilitated scope and sequence of leadership development and role-aligned training for 63+ school operations staff across 19 schools, leading to increased finance and accounting compliance, improved external audit results, more frequent peer-led learning, the smooth adoption of a new student enrollment software, and streamlined operations processes using Lean 6 Sigma methodologies 

 

Senior Area Operations & Finance Manager

  • Determined the need for and launched a school operations rubric and scorecard to assess performance in key functional areas and provide quantitative data to guide team goal-setting and school operations priorities that was implemented in all schools in the region

  • Co-managed 3 School Operations Managers, setting performance improvement priorities, leading strategic problem-solving, providing weekly coaching, and developing and sharing resources to support both school-specific and organization-wide strategic priorities

 

Area Operations & Finance Manager

  • Advised and supported 6 school executive leaders through the annual development and management of school budgets ranging from $7-9MM each and the analysis of monthly financial forecasts that led to 80% of schools meeting or exceeding their net income targets for 2 consecutive years 

  • Identified the need for and developed a comprehensive onboarding curriculum and accompanying resources used, in the first year, to train 15 school-based Operations staff and later referenced as a resource to guide the development of a new Home Office onboarding plan for all staff

Senior Project Engineer  

  • Negotiated and managed 15-25 subcontracts for construction projects ranging from $500K to $15MM for clients including Macy's, JCPenney, California Institute of Technology, and Incipio

  • Spearheaded corporate social responsibility initiative and launched the company’s first charitable giving campaigns, which served as the model for initiatives implemented in 2 other affiliated companies

  • Led company-wide training on new project management software and provided implementation support throughout the technology transition

  • Developed contractor scopes of work and analyzed cost proposals to create construction budgets for projects valued up to $100MM

  • Managed project documentation by compiling and distributing subcontractor requests for information, reviewing and coordinating building material approvals with the design team, updating construction documents with design revisions, recording and publishing meeting documentation
