You're a Leader and You Need Help

“Wow, that’s so easy for you. I forgot you know all this stuff.”

In my first few meetings with a new client, I heard that line often.

They’re a small nonprofit going through a massive renovation of their private facility. No one on their team has deep experience with construction—and that’s where I come in.

While our initial conversations were about evaluating current operations and building systems for stability and sustainability, my background in construction management quickly became just as valuable. From interpreting what’s happening in construction meetings to drafting State grant reimbursement packages to decoding RFIs and change orders, I’ve been able to help the team understand the process, improve on meeting deadlines, and submit documentation for funding.

What’s been most striking is how often smart, capable leaders are weighed down by things just outside their zone of expertise - and how a little bit of the right help can lift that weight almost instantly.

It’s been a joy to support this client in their construction journey and I’m excited to dive into the organizational development - providing that little bit of support to elevate their leader’s impact.

How long do you struggle with a task or responsibility before asking for help?
